ReplyDeleteWell, Easter is now over and we had a blessed time. SpeakEzy is restarting next Monday, 12am and 7pm.
ReplyDeleteOur final topic on Healthcare will be on Hospitals and a special visit by 2 famous medics–Doctor Willhelm Sawbones, surgeon extrodinaire, and his colleague, the excellent anaesthetist, Doctor Bruno Sleepmaakar both from the EU. They will show us some intracacies of open surgery.
Also learn what our next theme will be for May.
The Healthcare theme is finished–our conclusion of a 'surgical demo' by a 'surgeon' Dr Wilhelm Sawbones, an 'anaesthetist' Dr Bruno von Sleepmaaker, and Stefan the volunteer 'Patient' was hilarious–a shadowplay presentation with cardboard organs, etc, and was enjoyed by all students and tutors. Knowledge of most hospital and health words, terms, personnel, and procedures was gained during the 5 Healthcare Topics. During the rest of May we will be learning some grammar. This will be in a simple format called EzyGrammar. I hope to see you there! Bill.
ReplyDeleteWhy not become a Follower of SpeakEzy. If you live overseas and are interested in ESOL/ESL or teaching English to new migrants I would to welcome you to this rewarding and interesting sharing experience.
ReplyDeleteHi,Bill. I'm Soo. I really enjoyed the Healthcare theme. I remembered that you was a terrible doctor, wasn't you? However, it was a quite nice demonstration. I know that you and other tutors are willing to help us to improve our English. Thanks~ I love the SpeakEzy~
ReplyDeleteSpeakEzy has finished EzyGrammar, is on holiday 6 June and restarts June 13 at 10 and 7 with a new theme–K I S.
ReplyDeleteK I S is an interesting theme and will help you to 'Speak English With Confidence' and understand everyday communication.
ReplyDeleteYou are invited to join us for free ESOL tuition in a friendly and comfortable situation (see address above). Bring your friends, writing material, small donation for coffee/tea, etc. and learn about K I S.
Both sessions of SpeakEzy have had their first KIS (Kiwi Idiom Speech) topics on Monday 13 Jun 2011. Our students and tutors have learned how to study these crazy aspects of English. Idioms, so some people say, add depth and colour to language. The art of procuring them is not only colourful but challenging. Do you feel the challenge? Join us next week for more. I am sure you will benefit from it and be 'full of beans' and 'flat out' studying idioms.
ReplyDeleteCome on you SpeakEzy students and friends, let's see some comments from you. There are only 2 more sessions this month and then we have a Special for 4th July!!!!
ReplyDeleteSpeakEzy has now completed the KIS topics. Yesterday was July 4th, the American Independence Day Celebration and I had a Special Topic for the 2 Sessions on SpeakEzy BUT isabel and I had the FLU and couldn't make it. However I will present this topic next week. It is about our American friends and will be very interesting and challenging with some fun of course.
ReplyDeleteBring your notes and some friends. Bill.
Hi All, I have not, as yet been able to present the Special Topic. This will be on August 8 at both sessions.
ReplyDeleteCurrently SpeakEzy is on holiday–School Term Break. We restart Aug 1.
So enjoy the holiday and we will see you and your friends then.
We restarted after our School Term Break. On Aug 1 at morning Session we had Listening and Speaking and the Evening Session had Vocab. and Words.
ReplyDeleteOur Special topic was, at last, presented to both Sessions and was a very interesting topic. 'Independence' was the title because it was scheduled for 4th July, American Independence Day. Influenza caused it to be postponed. Anyway this topic explained the Independence of a very special group of US citizens–the Amish communities, especially those from Lancaster County in Pennsylvania. We learned a lot about these lovely, sincere people.
Monday 15 August we continue to learn more about the 'intracacies' of the language we call English. Hope to see you there! Bill.
WOW OUR HOLIDAY IS OVER. SpeakEzy will start for 2012 13 February at 10am and 7pm.

DeleteWell our Christmas Holidays have ended and SpeakEzy commenced on February 4 for the 2013 Sessions. Our students are from Asia, Europe, South America and wherever God sends them.
ReplyDeleteOur topics have been 'Themed' on the popular abbreviation PVC. This does not represent the much used plastic material but for us at SpeakEzy it means:
PRONUNCIATION, VOCABULARY, and CONVERSATION. Very important elements when learning to "Speak English With Confidence" (our motto).
So far our Topics at both the Morning and Evening Sessions every Monday have been:
Feb. 4 After The Holidays
Feb 11 In The Teacher's Shoes
Feb 18 Plane/Plan
Feb 25 Fishing
These have been focussing on Pronunciation. The morning Session students have also experienced our New Technology of E-Topics.
These are excellent videos I collect from our good friend Jennifer in Boston USA. The Evening Session will be receiving these E-Topics soon.
Our Tutors are now participating in presenting our Topics and after the initial 'butterflies' are doing well.
Some of our Tutors are have been or are going on vacation which is well deserved. There was a Training Session by Marilyn Lewis recently.
Currently we have 12 Tutors and 1 Assistant (Canteen). I might add that all our 'staff' are keen to participate in this outreach;
one can really get 'hooked' working in this part of The Lord's Vineyard!
Our March/ April programme will focus on Vocabulary. This will be very interesting and rewarding. Blessings.
hi,Bill. What is this "butterflies"means in this words?---Our Tutors are now participating in presenting our Topics and after the initial 'butterflies' are doing well.is it means beginning?
